Assent Compliance
Assent is a compliance partner that scales with the growing requirements, automates processes and delivers solutions that help companies stay compliant in an evolving regulatory landscape. Their specialty areas are REACH, RoHS, Supply Chain Management, Software and Consulting, Conflict Minerals and Environmental Compliance.
LINAK’s suppliers can expect to be contacted by Assent Compliance to document that they comply with the specific requirements.

The following regulations, directives, laws and product approvals are only a selection of major declarations, which suppliers if relevant have to comply with but might not limited to these only.

Regulations, directives and laws
The Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals regulation is a European regulation on chemicals. The REACH regulation effects LINAKs business which means that products has been evaluated, and LINAK plants in Europe are conscious of the REACH regulation.

Reduction of Hazardous Substances is a directive that restricts the use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. All LINAK products has to be RoHS2 compliant.
Read more about the REACH and RoHS directive here.

Conflict Minerals
LINAK requires that suppliers who provide components or materials containing conflict minerals must actively work towards conflict free sourcing. LINAK’s suppliers must perform their own RCOI and due diligence processes in order to facilitate valid and reliable conflict free sourcing. We expect our suppliers to work with their own suppliers in the same way, to ensure traceability of conflict minerals to the originating smelters.

Proposition 65
Proposition 65 (Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986) is a Californian law which requires businesses to notify Californians about significant chemicals that cause cancer or birth defects or other reproductive harm. LINAK requires that all products supplied are free of chemicals (either as ingredients or as residuals) identified by the Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) pursuant to Proposition 65.

The Consumer Protection Safety Act (CPSA) is a US Public Law that protects the public against unreasonable risks of injury from consumer products. The Consumer Product Safety Commission declares that any paint or surface coatings must not contain a concentration of lead greater than 0,009 percent (90 parts per million).
Suppliers that sell paint or surface-coated parts to LINAK are obligated to meet this regulation and must declare the concentration level of lead in their products.

Product approval
ATEX is an EU directive governed by the EU while IECEx is a leading standard, both of which concerns requirements for equipment intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. LINAK actuators for the explosion protected (Ex) industry has to comply with the IECEx standard and ATEX directive.

The American company UL is an approved safety testing company by the US federal agency, Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
LINAK suppliers (if applicable) is responsible for ensuring that all UL critical components and materials as specified in LINAK's specifications are proceeding in accordance with UL guidelines and to maintain all necessary records, so they are readily available for review by a UL field representative. UL local representatives will verify that the applicable requirements for traceability programs and requirements are met.
