Why you should include ergonomics your production line

Improved ergonomics helps lessen muscle fatigue and musculoskeletal disorders

Product News:  Wednesday, November 16, 2016
People remain a key and important resource in today's production lines and facilities. That is why ergonomics is an important quality of any workstation, as poor ergonomics can cost a company dearly.

According to the US Department of Labor, ergonomics-related injuries account for US$ 15-20 billion every year. In 2013, such injuries caused 380,600 days away from work, one third of the total number of called in days absent. A recent study in the UK by the Health and Safety Executive found that musculoskeletal disorders affect one million people every year as a direct result of poorly designed workstations.

With these findings, it is not surprising that the study of ergonomics is becoming more and more important. When executed well, ergonomic design can increase motivation and satisfaction, and ultimately result in better performance and higher productivity.

We offer an almost endless range of lifting columns, actuators, control boxes and controls, with the sole purpose of adjusting any application found in a production line to fit the specific employee perfectly. The result: better ergonomics, fewer musculoskeletal disorders and fewer days away from work; benefitting both the company and the individual employee.
